On December 5, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions on Promoting the Construction of New Urban Infrastructure to Create Resilient Cities."
The "Opinions" aim to deepen the actions to improve urban safety and resilience, promote the construction of new digital, networked, and intelligent urban infrastructure, create a resilient city with strong adaptability and fast recovery speed, and enhance urban risk prevention, control, and governance capabilities. The "Opinions" also clarified the main goal: by 2027, significant progress will be made in the construction of new urban infrastructure, the supporting role in the construction of resilient cities will continue to increase, and a batch of experiences and practices that can be replicated and promoted will be formed. By 2030, the construction of new urban infrastructure will achieve remarkable results, promote the construction of a number of high-level resilient cities, continue to improve urban safety and resilience, and make urban operations safer, more orderly, smarter, and more efficient.
The "Opinions" put forward 11 key points including implementing the construction and transformation of intelligent municipal infrastructure, promoting the coordinated development of smart city infrastructure and intelligent connected vehicles, developing smart residential areas, improving the level of intelligent building management, and developing digital homes.
